Located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, in a transition zone between sea and cloud forest, Minca is an ecological haven 600m above sea-level. An important habitat for more than 300 species of birds as well as butterflies and flowers, Minca is an alternative destination for travellers seeking rest and relaxation surrounded by nature. Finca la Fortuna has been the family home of Oscar and Sandra for more than 15 years. It has a 360-degree view of the Sierra Nevada which includes a beautiful view of Minca and forest and the bay of Santa Marta. The finca is set within 70 hectares of forest, enabling guests to be in the midst of nature where they can enjoy hiking trails, visits to the finca's bee-hives, bird-watching and canyoning along the reserve's rivers and streams.
Visitors can also get involved with the farm's activities, including chocolate-making, planting and harvesting and garden landscaping. On the farm you will also find organic honey, medicinal plants, countless birds and, above all, a space free of pollution.
Sandra is an experienced acupuncturist and offers on-site personal consultations and acupuncture sessions.
